Circle of Leaders has been delivered for fifteen years to thousands of leaders. It is one of the longest-running programs at WOW Academy and the one participants most often return to.
It exists for a specific moment: when you have the title, the team and the responsibility — and you are still not certain what you are actually doing when you lead.
-
Leadership Is Not a Title. It Is a Practice.
Most people are promoted into leadership and left to work it out. They copy someone they once worked for, adjust when it goes badly, and call the result a style.
Then something happens that the improvised version cannot hold. A team member who won't be reached. A change nobody wants. A generation that works nothing like yours.
Leadership is a discipline. It can be trained, and it can be practised. That is what these eight weeks are. -
Leadership vs. Control
Control is giving orders and dominating situations. It is also wanting to be right, having all the answers, and justifying your own bad calls.
Leadership is working together and going further, to get the best from every person involved.
Most leaders believe they are doing the second and are quietly doing the first. Week one is finding out which.
This is the spine of the program. Each axis is trained, practised in the room, and applied in your business between sessions.
The Six Axes of Development
Share a Vision
A leader knows where they are going and why — and can bring people with them. You will learn to present the big picture so consistently that it orients other people's decisions when you are not there.
Monitor Change
Anticipate change rather than absorb it. Understand the mechanism of how change moves through an organization and redefine your direction as events actually unfold.
Communicate With Passion
A shared goal is not enough on its own. This ishow commitment becomes contagious — how your own conviction generates team spirit instead of staying private.
Work Across Generations
Your organization holds people who entered the workforce in different worlds. Learn to recognize talent in each of them, and to translate between them without flattening anyone.
Generate Collective Intelligence
A real leader does not hold what they know. Build the environment where competence transfers, so the organization gets smarter rather than more dependent on you.
Lead Your Relational Network
Develop your network before you need it. Influence is built in advance, not requested in a crisis.
Six Ways to Lead — and When Each One Is Right
Most leaders have one style and use it everywhere. You will learn all six and, more importantly, when each is the correct choice.
- Coercive — “Do what I say”: For crisis and breakdown, when the situation will not wait.
- Authoritative — “Come with me”: When a change is needed and a new direction has to be set.
- Organizer — “People are first”: When people need care and the situation needs steadying.
- Democratic — “What do you think?”: When the team's thinking is better than yours alone.
- Gatherer — “Do what I do”: For fast results with people already motivated.
- Coaching — “Try this or that”: For developing long-term capability rather than immediate output.
By the Final Session, You Will Have
- Your leadership identity named — not borrowed from whoever led you first
- All six styles available to you, and the judgement to know which the moment calls for
- The gap between your stated values and your actual culture, mapped
- A practice for keeping your word that holds when the week goes wrong
- A room of leaders who watched you build it
What you accept when you enrol
- To participate at 100%
- To be present at every session, on time
- To communicate clearly, and not to complain, blame, or play victim
- To be kind with others and not judge them
- To understand that this program reflects your life and of yourself
Every participant accepts these on day one. They are not house rules — they are the first thing being trained.
For Graduates of High Speed Performance I
High Speed Performance is required. Circle of Leaders builds on the six distinctions and assumes you already have them.
